Four Kings Named to GOJHL Top Prospects Games

Today, the GOJHL unveiled its four Top Prospect Teams for the upcoming Top Prospects games in Ayr, during the holiday break, and among the names were four Komoka Kings: Jagan Chanderdat, Matthew Koprowski, Zach Houben, and Owen van de Ven.

 

Chanderdat is a 2006-born forward who is in his second full season with the Kings. So far this season, he has tied his career high in goals (4), and doubled his career high in assists, with six, in just 26 games. Chanderdat has also contributed on both special teams units this season. He is participating in his second Top Prospects/Future Stars game.

 

Koprowski is a 2007-born goaltender, who, as a sixteen year old, has put up impressive numbers for the Kings. Koprowski has maintained an .891 save percentage this season, with a 4.20 goals against. He is a 2023 draft pick of the Owen Sound Attack, in the 4th round of the OHL Priority Selection.

 

Houben is also a sixteen year old, who stands 6’5 and weighs in at 194 pounds. The 2023 5th round pick of the Ottawa 67s in the OHL Priority Selection has put up three goals and five assists for seven points in just 17 games, after being sidelined with an upper body injury early in the season. His 0.47 points per game ranks fourth among Kings this season.

 

van de Ven is a 2006-born defenceman, who stands 6’1 and weighs 170 pounds. Just recently acquired from the St. Thomas Stars, he has posted 2 goals and 19 assists for 21 points in 28 games on the back end. He was selected in the 9th round of the 2022 OHL Priority Selection by the Peterborough Petes.
